SAGINAW -- A case of teenage car racing appears to be the factor in a Saginaw crash that severely injured two small children.

The Michigan State Police: Bridgeport Post reports 16-year-old Treasure Green was racing her Cadillac Escalade north on Ray Street against another vehicle around 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, when she allegedly sped through a stop sign at Webber Street.

A Buick Regal, carrying five people, was crossing Webber at the same time and Green smashed into the vehicle.

The Regal driver, 24-year-old Ruby Peoples, and the four other passengers were all rushed to Covenant Hospital. Peoples’ injuries are listed as “moderate,” the two children are listed as “severely” hurt.

The other car drove away from the scene. There's no word on who was driving that vehicle yet.

Charges are pending in this case as the MSP continues to investigate the situations surrounding the crash.
