GENESEE CO. -- A Shar-Pei owner has been charged, after the dog viciously attacked a 6-year-old boy.
Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton reports the boy visited the home of 37-year-old Adan Donias to play with his children, when the dog attacked the child. The boy was bit on his face and neck.
The dog was later put to sleep because of the dangerous attack.
Donias faces a 4-year felony, up to $2,000 in fines, and hundreds of possible community service hours.
This isn’t the first time Donias has been in trouble with the law. He was also charged earlier this month in connection to stealing a motor vehicle in Davison Township in May. He’s expected to be in court for that charge Monday.
Dangerous Dog laws are becoming more prevalent across Mid-Michigan, however Shar-Pei's are seldom listed as "dangerous."
Do you think Genesee County should consider an ordinance like Saginaw's?
Do you think Shar-Pei's should be added to the "Dangerous Dog" list?
