Teenager killed on Begole St.
FLINT -- Flint resident Angela Bates says, " It escalated to the point that someone pulled out a gun and shot this poor child and he crawled down to the 3200 addresses and passed away unfortunately."
She's talking about the shooting death of Tory Scott.
After being shot last night, eighteen year old Scott was found lying in the middle of the street crawling trying to get help near the intersection of Begole and Seneca streets in Flint. Paramedics could not save him.
Thursday pieces of shattered glass show where stray bullets landed. This middle class neighborhood is frightened and fed up. So far the city is on track to tie last years homicide total of sixty-five.
Bates blames police saying, " I think it's a lack of police patrols. I think if there were more police to patrol the areas the neighborhoods would be safer. "
But, that wasn't the only shooting last night. There was also a double shooting on Lapeer road that left two more young men wounded. Besides more police residents would also like to see a gun buy back program.
Corie Garrett is from Flint. He says, " We have a lot of guns around here, people dying everyday, three, four people a day, five, six people getting shot, homes are getting wrecked, its just so bad with the economy, I don't understand why."
