BENNINGTON TWP. -- A 2 year old girl, who went missing Labor Day, has been found.
The Shiawassee County Sheriff’s Office reports the toddler wandered away from her home on the 8000 mile of Morrice Road in Bennington Township around 8:00 p.m. Monday.
The child’s caregiver searched for the girl, but due to the heavy brush and wooded area, couldn’t find her.
The Sheriff’s Department used a K9 unit, Michigan State Police help, MMR Lifenet Helicopter, the Department of Natural Resources, and surrounding police agencies to track the girl. Law Enforcement finally found her about two and a half hours later about 100 yards away from the home.
Fortunately, aside from being extremely cold, the child was OK and was reunited with her mother.
