Latest local news, weather and high school sports for Flint and the Tri-cities

9/11 Memorials planned across Mid-Michigan

As the nation remembers the lives lost on the tragic day ten years ago, many local events will take place to honor the fallen as well.

Here is a list of some of the local Memorial Events taking place on 9/11 here in Mid-Michigan:

* 10th Anniversary of the Terrorist Attack – 8:30 a.m. at Clio Veterans

* Port Huron Police Department Remembrance Ceremony – 9:00 a.m. at the International Flag Plaza

* Triumph of the American Spirit Event- 2:00 p.m. at Flint Perani Arena. (Doors open at 12:30 for police, fire, and EMS personnel)

* 10th Anniversary of the Deadly Terrorist Attack-  “Moment of Remembrance” at 1:00 p.m. on the lawn of Flint City Hall. Dedication of piece of World Trade Center at 2:00 p.m. at Flint City Hall.

* Fallen Firefighters Honored - 3:00 p.m. at the Midland Fallen Heroes Memorial

* Bells to toll for 9/11 victims and families during Mass of Remembrance- 5:30 p.m. at Cathedral of Mary of the Assumption in Saginaw.

* SVSU Students to hold Candlelight Vigil- 8:00 p.m. on campus
