John Skelton, the man accused in the disappearance of his three young sons, has been sentenced.
NBC25’s sister station, WDIV-TV, was in the courtroom Thursday morning when Skelton was sentenced to 10 to 15 years in prison.
Skelton’s three sons, 9-year-old Andrew, 7-year-old Alexander, and 5-year-old Tanner went missing from the Morenci area in November last year.
Tanya Skelton, the boys’ mother, said the children were visiting their father, but he never returned them.
Police have been searching for the children ever since, but have expressed their beliefs that the children may have been murdered. Despite their suspicions, John Skelton was sentenced Thursday on charges of unlawful imprisonment.
The boys remain missing.
