Michigan's attorney general says the owner of an apartment building, hotel, or similar facility can stop people from using or growing medical marijuana anywhere in the building.

Bill Schuette says the 2008 medical marijuana law does not stop landlords from banning the drug.

Medical marijuana advocates say the attorney general is trying to make medical marijuana more difficult to get and grow.
