(AP) -- The Associated Press reports a Michigan appeals court has ruled that prisoners have no right to parole under Michigan law.
A panel of judges at the 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals made the precedent-setting decision Tuesday in a case against Lucius Crump.
The AP reports Crump had been convicted of sex and drug crimes, and was denied parole in 2008. He has since fought, trying to gain parole.
However, under Tuesday’s ruling, the court says prisoners have no constitutional right or entitlement to it.
