Have you ever worried that the toy your child is playing with could be unsafe, or even toxic?  The Mid-Michigan Children’s Center warns that many toys can have harmful chemicals.

That’s why they’re offering a toy testing day as part of Safety Month.  On Saturday, September 24th, they’ll inspect Child Car Safety Seats, Toys, have a Child Abuse and Neglect (CAN) Council safety booth, talk about bike safety, offer safety routes to schools, offer First Aid information, and more.  The entire event is centered around giving parents the information they need to have peace of mind and keep their children safe.

There will be games and contests as well.  You can find out more about the event, by visiting the Mid-Michigan Children’s Museum website.

In the meantime, we want to hear your experiences. Have you ever purchased a toy that ended up not being safe? What toys might you know of that parents should avoid? Leave us your comments here or on the NBC25 Facebook page.
