FLINT -- A 12-year-old girl says a man tried to force her into his vehicle and kidnap her.
Flint Police say the man grabbed the girl just before 7:00 a.m. Wednesday near University Avenue and Cottage Grove.
The little girl was able to get away, and ran to a local business where she called for help.
Police release the sketch of the suspect Friday afternoon.
Investigators say the suspect is a black male, who is about six feet tall and in his late 30's or early 40's. The girl says he had a slender build.
He was driving a black, extended-cab pick-up truck that the girl said was very clean. She said it also had 28-inch rims.
Parents living near the area of the attack say the man looks familiar and hope he will be caught soon. In the meantime parents say they hope others will take the attack as a wake up call.
"In the last day or so a lot of parents are walking their kids to school that was a change because usually there a lot of kids walking up and down the street by themselves," said resident Carmen Cartwright.
"Parents need to be aware. Get up and walk your kids to the school in the morning or find some other arrangements to get your kids up," said resident Dollesther Bonner.
If you have any information on who this man could be, please call the Flint Police Department at 810-237-6800.
