Cancer institutes and hospitals are now using tattoos to help them treat breast cancer.

According to NBC News, a very small tattoo is placed on the patient’s chest and under their arm that helps deliver radiation to precise areas.

Patients can later opt to have the tattoos removed. It typically costs around $75 to remove the small dots.  However, now a group called “Declare Your Freedom” has opened a program that will allow the removal processes to be paid for entirely. You can learn more about that program here.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and we want to hear your breast cancer survival stories. Tell us if you or someone you know have been impacted by breast cancer and the successful treatments they’ve had in the comment section below.
