ALLENDALE -- A 21-year-old Grand Valley State University student from Saginaw passed away while playing basketball on campus Tuesday evening.
The school says police were called to the Allendale Campus Recreation Center after Shane Peoples-Welch complained of chest pains and fainted.
The county medical examiner says the student likely died from natural causes.Authorities say he suffered from a heart condition.
A vigil for students was held Wednesdaay night on campus.
