Capt. Drew Russell of Michigan killed in battle

A Michigan soldier has been killed in battle.

The Associated Press reports 25-year-old Captain Drew E. Russell was killed alongside 29-year-old Joshua Lawrence of Nashville Saturday. Capt. Russell is a native of Scotts, Michigan.

The AP reports enemy forces attacked their unit in Afghanistan.

Funeral arrangements have not yet been released.
