Security agents are now trained behavioral detection officers
DETROIT -- Detroit Metro Airport and Boston Logan International Airport are the latest airports to use the TSA's new 'chat down' screening process for fliers.
"The program itself is designed to detect behaviors or reactions that might be signs of potetntial threats to aviation," says Robert Ball, TSA Director for Detroit Metro Airport.
According to WDIV TV, security agents at Detroit Metro are now trained behavioral detection officers.
Agents ask passengers a series of questions why going over the ID's and boarding passes.
The process is similar to what people experience when crossing the border into Canada or Mexico in a car.
Ball says the TSA's goal is to make the new screening process the nationwide standard in the near future.
