Centers for Disease Control releases study on alcohol abuse

According to a recent study from the Centers for Disease Control, alcohol abuse by Americans is costing the U.S. economy around $223 billion a year.

The study focused on areas such as work productivity, health issues from abusing alcohol and law enforcement costs.

"It's costing us. It's costing society. It's costing people damage to our family, to our homes, to our loved ones," says addiction counselor Bill Trosko.

Three quarters of the cost to the U.S. economy is a result of binge drinking.
