The FDA wants to use a "star system" to identify the healthiness of foods.

Remember in elementary school when you’d receive a star sticker for being good, and the more star stickers you received the better it meant you were? The Food and Drug Administration now wants to bring the star stickers back.
According to Bloomberg Business Week, the FDA wants to rate foods with a “star system.” The more stars a food has, the healthier it is. The star system will go off of calories per serving, fats, sodium, and sugar.
The media outlet reports the star system wouldn’t replace nutrition panels, but would make it clearer for consumers to see right away the health benefits, or lack thereof, of a particular food item.
What do you think of the star system? Is it a good idea to bring awareness to healthier foods, or is it unnecessary since foods already have nutrition labels? Vote on our poll and leave us your comments below.
