“It stopped my husband and son from going into oncoming lanes,” Heidi M. is quoted saying on the new Michigan Department of Transportation video.

Heidi’s referring to cable guardrails.  The MDOT released the Youtube video this month to shed light on the importance of the cable guardrail system.

The video tells the stories of crash victims whose lives were saved because of the devices.  The MDOT says that each year, people are rescued from death or horrible accidents because of them.

MDOT says that 300 miles of Michigan freeways are lined with the cable guardrails.

You can watch the MDOT video in the video box at the top of this story.
