SWARTZ CREEK -- A group of coaches saved the life of a Swartz Creek High School student this week.
Assistant Superintendent Lauren Hunter reports a 10th grade boy collapsed on the gym floor on Wednesday, October 26th.
The team of district couaches jumped into action and grabbed the Automated External Defibrillator (AED). Fortunately, the boy’s heartbeat was restored. He was then rushed to the hospital by ambulance for further treatments and observation.
Supt. Hunter states, “the quick actions and combined efforts of our district coaches saved the student’s life. For that we are grateful for their heroism and the emergency training they received through the district.”
Fellow Superintendent James Bleau told NBC25 on Friday, "We're going to make sure we have these machines available, that we're going to train people properly and that should an incident like this happen, we're going to be proactive and be able to take care of things and it all world out for the best."
