Emergency Financial Manager could be appointed by state
FLINT -- A state appointed panel has requested more time to review Flint's troubled finances.
The finances have been under review since late August.
The panel is now expected to release its findings in late November.
Governor Snyder could appoint an Emergency Financial Manager, or give city officials more power in handling the city's finances if the review concludes that a state intervention is needed.
Incumbent mayor Dayne Walling says the city has been cooperating with the panel from day one.
The results of the review would have likely had a major impact on the November 8th Flint mayoral election, between Walling and challenger Darryl Buchanan.
