BAY CITY -- Bay city residents will head to the polls Tuesday to elect a new mayor.
Incumbent Christopher Shannon took over as mayor when Charles Brunner left the position to become a state representative in 2010.
Shannon is going up against Bay City Commission President Kathleen Newsham who also served as mayor of the city from 1997 to 2003.
The city has two major issues recently which include the controversial new sound ordinances that make it a crime to have police called out to your home or business several times in one year and adding fees to water bills to avoid layoffs.
NBC25 will have results from the Bay City moral race and other elections on this link Tuesday night.
