Among the biggest races in Mid-Michigan is in Flint. The race pits Flint's Mayor Dayne Walling against challenger Daryl Buchanan. Despite the magnitude of the race, Genesee County Clerk Michael Carr says Flint voter turnout has only been at approximately 15%. They do say, though, that this is typical for voter turnout in the area.
Perhaps the most controversial election, though, is the Rep. Paul Scott Recall. Carr says voter turnout in the 51st District has been at about 25% Tuesay morning. Carr says this is high for an off year, and is more of the equivalent of what one might expect for a Governor's race.
The Burton mayor's race between Paula Zelenko and Danny Wells. Voters in Bay City are also deciding on a mayor. Current Bay City Mayor Christopher Shannon is up against challenger Kathleen Newsham.
Meantime, voters in Saginaw are asking for a millage that would make repairs to city hall.
