DETROIT (AP) -- General Motors says its earnings were down about 15% from the year before.
The Associated Press reports the Detroit-based automaker earned $1.7 billion in the third quarter of this year. While it is down from last year’s profit, it is still the seventh straight quarter in which the company posted a profit.
The AP reports GM lost money in Europe, but the North American sales and international sales helped balance out the equation.
Chief Financial Officer Dan Ammann tells the AP that while the company has been posting a profit, it still needs to improve in all regions.
