FLINT -- Hundreds of dollars are being offered as a reward to end man-hole cover thefts in Flint.

“Junk Iron and Metal" is offering a $500 reward for information leading to the arrest of anyone stealing water or sewer covers in Flint and Genesee County.

The owner, Donald Sampson, says Flint spends thousands of dollars replacing man-hole covers each year, and could be spending it on police instead.

Sampson is working on forming a coalition of scrap yards to keep illegal metal from being turned in.

If you have any tips on who is stealing the sewer covers, you can call Junk Iron and Metal at 810-691-2338 or contact the Flint Police Department at 810-237-6800.
