GENESEE COUNTY -- Several accidents were reported across Genesee County on the busiest travel day of the year.

At 7:30a.m. Wednesday, Central Dispatch reported at least 25 accidents across the area.

Icy roads caused dozens of crashes on Southbound and Northbound I-475 as well Northbound and Southbound I-75. Flushing Road, Mt. Morris Road, and Pierson Road also had several incidents due to the weather.

NBC25 Meteorologist Janet VanDeWinkle reports the wet roads froze as the temperatures quickly fell Wednesday morning, causing the roads to be extremely slick.
