Thousands of shoppers hit Birch Run Premium Outlets Thanksgiving night in anticipation of Black Friday. Some stores at the popular outdoor mall opened doors as early as 9:00p.m. Thanksgiving night while others opened at the traditional time of 12:00a.m.
"We never done it before," said Andrea Edison who came to Birch Run from Canada with some friends.
"I actually googled how to survive Black Friday shopping so we got tips saying please and thank you," said Edison.
Holiday spending is expected top $500 billion, that's 3% more than last year.
Things ran smoothly overnight at the outlet mall with no reports of fights.
