LANSING -- Michigan House Republicans have unveiled a plan that focuses on lowering utility rates and protecting low-income residents from utility-shut offs this winter.

Rep. Ken Horn of Frankenmuth, House Speaker Jase Bolger, and Rep. Amanda Price unveiled the legislation Tuesday that “immediately injects $62 million into the state’s Emergency Relief Fund to help keep low-income residents warm this winter…”

"The House GOP plan strikes the proper balance between protecting people and controlling the high cost of utility bills for ratepayers," Rep. Horn stated in a news release.  "Our plan is a comprehensive solution to make sure our most vulnerable citizens stay warm this winter."
