GRAND RAPIDS -- Family and close friends of Fred Meijer have gathered to bid grocery store founder Fred Meijer farewell.

The entrepreneur from West Michigan passed away in late November at 91-years-old.  WOOD-TV reports he had suffered a stroke at his home and died at the Spectrum Health System in Grand Rapids.
