FLINT -- Catholic Charities in Flint needs your help with any non-perishable food item. It can be dropped at any area Dort Federal Credit Union before the end of the month. One of the places that will benefit from your generosity is Flint’s North End Soup Kitchen.

7th grade students from St. John the Evangelist School in Fenton spent some time there this week helping out.   Teacher Terese Adams says, “I teach religion and this is our faith in action.”

The lack of jobs around these parts is forcing more and more people into food kitchens like this one.  Getting them the food is all done with volunteers.

“It’s a good feeling knowing you’re doing good for the world instead of sitting around watching TV”, according to Tessa Peabody, a 7th grader at the school.
