DETROIT -- Update: December 13, 2011 11:20 a.m.
The Associated Press is reporting that police are trying to get a warrant for a charge in connection to the disappearance of Bianca Jones. While police are not yet releasing the name of the suspect in the charge, the request is being reviewed by the prosecutor.
New information says the missing 2-year-old from Detroit may not be alive.
WDIV-TV reports that a source close to the investigation say Bianca Jones is believed to be dead.
Jones has been missing since December 2nd. Her father, D’Andre Lane, told police that he was carjacked at gunpoint. The suspects drove off with this vehicle, and the little girl was inside. Investigators, though, found loop-holes in his story, and soon began to question the truthfulness of it.
Over the weekend, hundreds of volunteers combed the area in an attempt to find the child. Monday, police called off the searches due to the questionable reports from Lane.
Police are still asking for information in this case. If you have any details about where Jones may be, please call their office at 313-569-2555.
