BAY CITY -- The former Bangor Township Basketball coach accused of sexually abusing an 11-month-old child has been found not guilty.

Booth Mid-Michigan reports Mark Townsend was found innocent on all three abuse charges Thursday.

In March 2010, the infant was taken to the Bay Regional Medical center for severe injuries.  Medical Employees believed the child had been sexually assaulted.

The Sheriff’s department believed Townsend was responsible.

However, during the evidence presented in the trial, a jury of peers believed that didn’t actually molest the child.
