Some kindergarten students learned the holidays are more than just about sending Santa their wish-list.

Instead of the traditional holiday party, students in Ms. Tindell's class at North Saginaw Charter Academy focused on giving to others.

They decorated cookies to give away.  Of course, some couldn't help but sneak a few licks.  Others knew exactly who'd get their cookie.  Laila Dorsey’s going to give her cookie to the man in the red suit.

“Santa Claus, this is for you when you come in, give me some presents, then you can eat your cookie,” Dorsey said she would write on her note Christmas Eve.

Students also exchanged books and made crafts.
