AAA says a third of the population will be traveling over the holidays. That's 92-million people. Its the same story here in mid michigan where many spent the day on the roads and in the air. Triple A says 84 million are on the roads this weekend. All the extra traffic on I-75 Saturday afternoon did what the recent snow did not, that's snarl traffic. This four car accident near Miller road was just one of the snags drivers ran into.

For another five million flying is the way to travel. Flint's Bishop airport is seeing commuters from every corner this weekend. Some rushing to fly out, others just landing at their destination.

Marcus Sorgent says, " I almost missed a flight on the way out here but we made it by the skin of our teeth."

This year those flights are costing travelers more. The average ticket price is 35 dollars higher than last year. Even on the roads gas prices spiked within the last week going up 20 cents overnight.

With his bag in tow Sailor Douglas card barely misses a beat. He says, " I haven't seem my family in about three months so its really exciting to come home and see them."

despite shelling out more its a sacrifice he and millions are willing to make, one they've waited all year long for.
