BAY CITY -- More than a hundred people lightened their clutter Saturday by getting rid of old electronics.  The Bay County Environmental Affairs and Community Development Department hosted a drop-off event at the Bay County Fairgrounds.

People recycled their old TV's, monitors and basically anything with a plug.  Organizers say it's an environmentally fitting way to help out the community, especially with Earth Day around the corner.

"Our environment needs all the recycling we need to keep saving and making things better, and this is only setting good patterns for the youth to keep recycling and continue that,” said Olivia Grocholski, a Bay City Central student.

Students from Bay City Central boxed up hundreds of donated items.
