LANSING -- A bill passed by the Michigan House on Thursday would allow civilians to carry Taser guns.

The House almost unanimously passed Senate Bills 2930 and 93. The Senate, which originally approved the bills last October still has to sign off on some legalities before passing them off to Gov. Rick Snyder for final approval.

According to MLive, the law states that citizens can possess and use electro-muscular disruption devices, more commonly known as Tasers, with a concealed pistol license and training.

Currently, Michigan law permits Taser use only by certain law enforcement and corrections officers.  In total, 44 states allow civilians to carry the electroshock guns.
