WILLIAMS TOWNSHIP -- The Michigan State Police bomb squad closed their investigation after a Bay County family reported finding a possible live grenade in their attic Saturday.
The investigating MSP trooper told NBC25 the grenade found in the Williams Township home was indeed inert. The fuse had been used and there was no explosive in it. The trooper says the grenade looked like it was made anywhere between the World War II and Vietnam War eras.
Police say the homeowner did the right thing by calling 911.
