FLINT (AP) -- Prosecutors are in the home stretch in the first murder trial in Michigan connected to a series of deadly stabbings two summers ago.

The second week of trial for Elias Abuelazam (EE'-lee-us ah-BOOL'-ah-zahm) starts Tuesday in Genesee County. Prosecutors may try to introduce more testimony from men who survived late-night knifings in and around Flint in 2010.

Abuelazam is on trial for the death of 49-year-old Arnold Minor, but jurors last week heard evidence of other similar attacks.

Defense attorneys could launch an insanity defense when their turn comes this week.

The Israeli immigrant is charged with three murders and six attempted murders in the Flint area as well as attempted murder in Toledo, Ohio. Fourteen people were stabbed in Michigan, and five died.
