The Indepdendence Bridge reopened to traffic on Wednesday after a nearly three-week shutdown.

BAY CITY -- Some good news for drivers in Bay City.

The Indepdendence Bridge reopened to traffic on Wednesday after a nearly three-week shutdown.

The city-operated drawbridge was stuck in an open position since May 3 after it failed an electrical test.

The bridge is used by 25,000 drivers daily.
