How much is too much when it comes to posting to social media?
Our morning talker for Monday comes to us Emily Post which is an online etiquette website. They recently shared an article about "Social Media TMI".
We all know those posts that we read where we think, "they probably shouldn't have shared that."
A survey on digital sharing by intel found 9 out of 10 Americans believe people are sharing too much about themselves online.
here's what a media expert has to say about "what is ok to share online?"
"The way I like to think about online sharing is, that if you wouldn't get together all of your contacts, say, on Facebook for example, bring them together in an auditorium and feel comfortable saying this to any one of them, it's probably not the right thing to be sharing online," said Emily Post author Anna Post.
People are especially bothered, she says, by the sharing of inappropriate or explicit photos, rigid political views or sharing of other people's personal information.
We're asking our facebook fans this morning, where would you draw the line when it comes to posting sensitive information on social media? Have you ever had unwanted secrets or information shared via social media? Share your stories with us!
