A Back to the Bricks preview tour started today in Flint.
Before 100,000 people come to the city for the classic car extravaganza in August a preview tour is held. It's called the Mitten Tour. About 300 classic cars are leaving Flint en masse for Grayling, Cadillac, and Grand Rapids. They show the state what we already know. That Back to the Bricks is more than just another car show.
The tour will wind up with a grand return to Flint at the Sloan Museum's Summer Car event.
On a personal note, I usually take my son and one of his buddies to Back to the Bricks. We've discovered, while the cars are cool, it's the owners of those cars and their stories that we really love. Along with the Crim Festival of Races, it's really Flint's finest hour. (or week)
MLive is along for the tour and we'll check in with their reporters on our morning show, NBC 25 Today.
