Drivers are saving a few more bucks, now that gas prices are plummeting throughout the U.S.
As oil and crude prices drop, so are the numbers at the pump. The average U.S. prices for a gallon of gas is just under $3.50. That is about 20 cent lower from this time last year.
One New York driver that's home visiting her family in Michigan said, gas prices are more expensive here then in the big apple.
"It's nice to have some extra cash in the pocket. I don't drive too much, but when I do, it's nice to have the extra money," Angela Wheeler said.
Analysts are predicting that gas could slip below $3 by this fall. However, parts of South Carolina and Virginia are already paying less than $3 at the pump now.
