Every year young children all over the nation who live in poverty go back to school in worn out clothing and shoes that have holes in them or do not fit.
United Way of Bay County responds to this need with its Back to School Clothing Program. The program sent over 1,200 children with a new outfit, shoes, and undergarments for school last fall.
The program is in full swing again for the 2012 school year start up. Applications are being taken daily.
If you are a parent or know a parent of school age children who could use help, please call 989.893.7508 x15, visit unitedwaybaycounty.org, or stop in to the United Way office at 909 Washington Avenue, Suite 2, downtown Bay City. Deadline to apply is July 31!
