FENTON TOWNSHIP -- Two children were playing in Marl Lake on Sunday night, and only one made it out alive.

Police were called to the scene around 8:45 p.m. where two 11-year-olds were playing in the lake near a home off Highland Trail.

The kids were about 30 feet offshore on a floating island when one of the 11-year-old fell into the water and never came up.

Neighobrs called 911 almost immediately and began searching for the boy.

The state police dive team found his body in about 20 feet of water.

The boy's name has not been released.
