A survey by the National Consumers League shows 6 out of 10 parents with children 8 through 12 have given their "tweens" cell phones.
They listed safety and tracking their child's after-school activities as the top two reasons for buying the phones.
92% said they spend less than $75.00 a month on their "tweens" cell phone service.
99% of parents said they have no regrets about buying their "tween" a cell phone.
