SAGINAW -- An 18-year-old man is in critical condition after he was shot in the head several times early Tuesday morning. 

Saginaw police tell NBC25 the shooting happened on the city's east side around 1:15 a.m. on Cambrey Street near Lincoln Avenue. 

Police say the victim was sitting in a car with two friends when shots were fired into the car.  His friends drove him Covenant HealthCare, where he remains in critical condition.

The Saginaw Major Crimes Task Force is investigating the incident.
