Vigil held to remember theater shooting victims in Colorado

AURORA, COLO. -- The victims from Friday's theater shooting were remembered in a vigil on Sunday night.

The mayor of Aurora told the crowds that their hearts are broken, but their community is not.

Colorado's Governor also assured people that the victims will not be forgotten.

President Obama also spoke with survivors and relatives of those who died.

The suspect, 24-year-old James Holmes, will be make his first court appearance on Monday.  Holmes was arrested immediately follwoing the deadly shooting spree during a packed mdinight premiere of "The Dark Knight Rises".

At least 12 people were killed and 58 others were injured.

Aurora's Police Chief Dan Oates says the shootings followed months of "calculation and deliberation" as Holmes collected deliveries of weaponry to both his workplace and home.

Oates has Michigan ties, he was the police chief in Ann Arbor from 2001 through 2005.
