TAMPA -- The Republican National Convention wrapped up in Tampa with Governor Mitt Romney formally accepting the GOP nomination for president.

After a wet weather delay, the RNC came to a roaring close tonight after Mitt Romney addressed the convention for the first time as presidential nominee for the GOP.

The momentum has been building all week, beginning with Ann Romney who impressed thousands of delegates with stories meant to portray her husband as the quintessential family guy.

Supporters say it is Ann who has the potential to switch voters in Romney's favor.

Also speaking/performing Thursday, Clint Eastwood, American idol winner Taylor Hicks, and Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, who hopes to help the Romney/Ryan ticket clinch the Latino vote.

The Democratic National Convention will be held September 4-6 in Charlotte, North Carolina.
