FLINT -- Grand Blanc resident Jeffery Cox was arraigned in district court after authorities say he allegedly e-mailed a bomb threat to the Grand Blanc Public Schools last week.
The 27-year-old Cox was arraigned on two felony charges: making a false report of a bomb threat and using a computer to commit a felony.
Both charges come with a maximum four-year prison sentence.
Cox was arrested Wednesday after Grand Blanc police tracked him down through the IP address used to send the alleged e-mail.
Cox's attorney Michael Manley asked the court for a competency evaluation and told the court his client has mental and medical health issues and is not sure his client understands the nature of the proceedings against him.
According to Manley, Judge David Goggins will determine if Cox should undergo a competency evaluation next week.
Cox was released into his parents' custody but must abide by the following stipulations: He must not have contact with any computer, he must be accompanied by his parents at all times and he is to have no contact with any Grand Blanc schools or campuses.
