Vassar native Staff Sergeant Travis Mills is on his way home. Back in April, he lost all four limbs while on tour in Afghanistan. He has been recovering at Walter Reed Hospital in Bethesda Maryland. While his recovery is still in progress Travis will be visiting his home town Vassar for the first time since his horrific accident.

Travis’s visit home will be an emotional event not only for his family but for the entire community who've have been following  his remarkable story. 2 events will allow Travis and the community to celebrate his return. Travis’s return home just so happened to coincide with the weekend of the Homecoming football game in Vassar. There's a parade slated for October 4th at 6:30. He's the grand marshall. Then Travis will address the crowd before the football game on Friday night October 5.
