Byron schools closed Monday, fire burns through local business

Eight fire departments battled a structure fire early Monday morning at a business in Byron, according to Shiawassee County Central Dispatch.

The fire started around 2:30 a.m. on the100 block of S. Saginaw Street.  There have been no injuries reported.

According to MLive, Janelle's Family Restaurant was among the structures affected by the fire.

A cause of the fire was not immediately known.

It has also been confirmed that Byron Area Schools are closed on Monday but it is unsure whether or not the closings are related to the fire.
