SAGINAW -- Beginning Monday, Octer 15, fines for parking violations will go up.

The city's parking reform team voted on the measure at a city council meeting in August.

The increase affects Prohibited Early Morning Parking between the hours of 3am to 6am. The fine increases from $15 to $25. After ten days the fine increases to $50.

Overtime parking increases from $10 to $15 then $30 after ten days.

Handicapped parking increases from $125 to $150 then $200 after ten days.

City leaders say the revenue generated by the fines will be used to enforce the parking ordinance.
